Project Description

A stadium open to the community, connecting people through sports

At the heart of Tokyo Giants Town stands GIANTS TOWN STADIUM, the new home field for the Yomiuri Giants’ farm team. Designed as a place where “anyone can enjoy sports at any time,” the stadium serves not only the Giants’ young players but also high school, university, junior league,  and women’s teams. As both a sports hub and a symbol of the local community, it embodies the spirit of openness and shared growth.

Seating that brings spectators closer to the action

The stadium inherits the legacy of the Tamagawa Ground, once known for its lively interaction between players and local residents. With seating designed to reduce the distance between fans and athletes, both the second and third floors feature four rows of stands, offering excellent sightlines and an immersive sense of being right next to the players. Along the first- and third-base lines and behind home plate, 563 “BLM-5131” stadium seats have been installed. Made from blow-molded high-density polyethylene, they offer outstanding durability and impact resistance against foul balls. Each seat comes with a cup holder, and the supportive backrest ensures comfort throughout the game. In the outfield, the left side features natural grass seating, while the right side provides standing areas with counter tables, allowing spectators to enjoy food and drinks while watching the game up close.

Seats designed for visibility and comfort

On the second and third floors, 1,252 “BLM-8020” seats have been installed. Their slim design reduces the depth to just 250 mm when folded, making it easier to stand, sit, and move through the aisles. The seating also provides a comfortable sitting experience, with cup holders positioned according to the layout. Some of the first-floor “Excite Seats” and selected third-floor seats are arranged in a staggered formation angled toward the batter. This unobstructed views and allowing fans to follow the play from any angle. For officials such as team staff and scorers, 18 “BLM-5131” seats are equipped with desks that include power outlets and task lights, enhancing functionality. In the dugouts, 74 “BLM-1310” seats are installed in a bench-style, side-by-side layout, offering both individual seating and a comfortable environment for players and staff.

Facility overview

GIANTS TOWN STADIUM embraces the concept of “GROWINGOOD!”—a coined term combining “growing” and “good.” More than just a ballpark, it serves as a lively community plaza, hosting sports tournaments, local markets, events, and festivals. At the adjacent sub-ground, visitors can watch professional players practice up close, offering daily encounters with top-level skill and passion. Looking ahead, an aquarium and dining facilities are scheduled to open in 2027, further enhancing the vibrancy of the area. Growing together with the community, GIANTS TOWN STADIUM continues to embody the spirit of “GROWINGOOD!” as it expands its potential for the future.
