Innovative stadium with multi-purpose use

EDION PEACE WING HIROSHIMA is a soccer stadium used as the home of the professional soccer club Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
The former home Hiroshima Metropolitan Park Athletic Field, which had both a track and field stadium, lacked a sense of excitement and was not easily accessible from the center of Hiroshima City. The new stadium was constructed as Japan’s first “Downtown Stadium” where visitors can feel free to drop by. Additionally, the minimum distance between the pitch and the audience seating is 8 meters, allowing audiences to enjoy a powerful match experience.
To make the stadium suitable for uses other than soccer, Kotobuki Seating’s outdoor Retractable Seating System was installed.

Japan’s first outdoor Retractable Seating System installed

To meet the need for a multi-purpose stadium, 546 Recessed Model outdoor Retractable Seating Systems, which can be easily deployed and retracted, have been installed in the East Back Stand.
The seats can be retracted and stored to create a flat space. Even on days other than soccer game days, the flat floor space can be used for group events by setting up chairs and desks, and can be utilized as a lively place and exchange center for not only soccer fans but also prefectural residents, citizens, and tourists at any time of the year.
Since the Retractable Seating System is installed outdoors, the floor is made of aluminum, which is resistant to rain and minimizes fading from UV rays. The appeal of this product is that it does not deteriorate easily when exposed to direct sunlight, rain, or snow, and can be used for a long period of time.
Twelve Retractable Seating System units have been installed. The number of seats can be changed, depending on the event, for example, all the units can be used as seats for a soccer game, half the units can be used as seats when only 6 units are deployed while the other half can be used for other events, or all the units can be retracted to create an open space for various purposes.

Introduced a variety of seating with special attention to seating comfort and design

Kotobuki Seating has introduced different seats with special attention to comfort and design for Retractable Seating System and VIP seating, respectively.
The chair mounted on the Retractable Seating System is VISION, which offers excellent storage and comfort. When seated, the large backrest and seat firmly cradle the body, and when not in use, the seat retracts compactly to provide a spacious aisle with comfortable seating. All seats are also equipped with cup holders.
The balcony in front of the Skybox and Business Lounge on the 4th floor features the “AllWe” series of ergonomically designed large stadium seats with cushions that incorporate a 3D curved backrest. Supports posture while watching games and reduces strain on the back and lumbar. The seats are black to differentiate them from the general seating area.
The deluxe seats feature the BLM-5100 series with cup holders. The backrest has a gentle curve that envelops the body of the seated person, allowing them to rest their body comfortably even during long games. A luggage rack was added in addition to a mini-table between the seats of that deluxe pair seats. The same series with backrest and seat pad is installed in the upper premium seats.
The press seats are equipped with the BLM-1510, which features a rounded form and a backrest. The desks are equipped with outlet boxes for PCs.
Low counter, middle counter, and counter seats, as well as other table seats for groups and families, feature the SC-700 series of foldable vinyl leather courtside chairs. It has a stable appearance that can be used for both players and spectators, and features a cushion that firmly supports the backrest and seat.
The balcony in front of the sensory room, for individuals who are sensitive to loud noise or light, is lined with the FC-304 series of stacking chairs with a largely curved backrest that provides firm support for the body.
The party terrace is lined with side tables and chairs with power outlets for charging smartphones and other devices, allowing groups to enjoy events.

Facility Overview

EDION PEACE WING HIROSHIMA is located within a few minutes’ walk from the Kamiyacho and Hacchobori areas, which have flourished as the center of Hiroshima, and is one of the few Downtown Stadiums.
Several firsts in Japan have been introduced since the opening of the stadium, including the installation of an outdoor Retractable Seating System in the stadium and the permanent installation of a sensory room for individuals who are sensitive to loud noise and light.
The stadium is intended to be a multi-purpose stadium that can be used for various events and meetings on days when there are no games.
