Project Description

Citizens are expected to use the Theatre at the Minoh Theatre For The Performing Arts in many ways

Minoh City in Osaka Prefecture has a lush green environment. Due to its convenience, the city is also popular as a commuter town in Osaka City.
The 'Minoh Theatre For The Performing Arts' opened as a new symbol of the city in August 2021.
Citizens and students can readily use the 300-seat Theatre for presentations and lectures. The rectangular plan of the shoebox-shaped hall is designed to host a variety of events while ensuring the beauty of the interior. The stage is equipped with batons that can be used to set up lights and other devices.
The interior design of the theatre resembling woven bamboo material, expresses Minoh Semba's history as a 'textile town' and the derivation of the place's name, 'Minoh'.

Seating space that is easy to see and use

The auditorium has a large incline of 280 millimeters at each level.
The chairs in the center block are staggered, with the front row and the back row shifting by half a seat each to secure the line of sight. The large slope and staggered layout create a seating space where the stage can be easily seen from every seat. There is also a wheelchair space for five seats in the last row. It is easily accessible and the stage is also well visible from here.
In addition, there is one row of 'back-collapse seats' at the rear of the auditorium, where the back of the chairs can be folded down. This makes it easy to set up consoles and other equipment, and expands the range of support for diverse events.

Simple and efficient chairs harmonizing with the interior design

The seating area consists of chairs with a minimalist design that strives for functional beauty.
When watching events, the chair's three-dimensional curved backrest fits your body and maintains your posture. The lower part of the backrest is recessed to match the S-curve of the spine. This design increases legroom for people sitting in the back row and also makes passing through aisles easier.
The seat uses Kotobuki Seating's original corrugated springs. It distributes body pressure evenly, enabling you to sit for an extended period of time comfortably.
The armrest has a pointed tip making it easier to place your hand on it, and it also gives the chair a lighter appearance. A retractable memo pad is provided under the armrest. It is a movable type that can be pulled out when you want to use it, and is useful for placing materials or taking notes at lectures.
To match the interior design and harmonize the space with the chair, the wooden parts of the backboard, armrests, and leg panels are significantly brighter in color.
The original upholstery design for the Theatre was created by FABRIKO Co., Ltd. The waffle-like grid weave has a subtle gradation pattern that reminds you of the 'weave' design of the interior. The dignified textile, without being overwhelming, further enhances the quality of the hall.

A Theatre that brings forth the history and natural features of Minoh City. As a familiar hall that blends into the daily lives of many citizens, it is expected to be used in many different ways.

Facility Overview

The Minoh Theatre For The Performing Arts was built to replace the Green Hall (Minoh City Civic Hall), which was established in 1966. It consists of a Grand Hall for concerts and plays, and a Theatre that can be easily used by citizens and students for presentations and gatherings.
The building was designed with the motif of 'Mino (winnowing basket)', from which the name Minoh is said to have originated, and 'fiber,' which symbolizes the Minoh Semba area. Each facility in this place is likened to a box, and the formation consists of rhythmic rows of boxes, each with its own feel, such as a 'weaving screen' box and a box covered with wooden louvers. The architectural design, which is connected to the inside of the hall, presents a distinct and profound landscape.
Bringing culture to the city, to people, and to the future. Minoh City has a new asset with the addition of this theatre.
