Atsuta Baseball Stadium (Atsuta Aichi Tokei 120 Stadium)
Atsuta Baseball Stadium (Atsuta Aichi Tokei 120 Stadium)
Dec. 10,2025
Sports and Entertainment Facility
Outdoor Stadium
Project Description
A seating renovation to protect the “sacred ground” of Aichi baseball
Atsuta Jingu Park Baseball Stadium—affectionately known as “Atsuta Stadium” and officially nicknamed “Atsuta Aichi Tokei 120 Stadium”—has been a cornerstone of high school baseball in Aichi Prefecture since its opening in 1950. While the stadium’s infield stands have witnessed countless historic tournaments, the previous seating materials were susceptible to damage from foul balls. To provide a safer and more durable environment for its 9,000 spectators, a phased renovation project was undertaken and completed in March 2023.
While preserving the stadium’s signature blue and orange color scheme, the new seating represents a significant advancement in both durability and functionality.
Durability and year-round comfort through advanced blow molding
The renovated seating areas feature the
BLM-3600 series
, a backless bench-style seating that retains the stadium’s traditional layout. By combining units of different widths (1,200 mm and 800 mm), the installation closely follows the gentle curvature of the grandstand.
The BLM series employs blow-molded high-density polyethylene, forming a double-shell hollow structure. This structure acts as a shock absorber, allowing the seat to flex upon impact from a hard-hit foul ball, thereby significantly reducing the risk of cracking or breakage.
In addition, the material offers excellent resistance to ultraviolet exposure, minimizing fading and deterioration over time. Its thermal properties also enhance comfort by preventing excessive heat buildup in summer and extreme cold in winter. For added comfort, 26 seats in the front row of the rear section behind home plate were upgraded with backrests, offering a more relaxed viewing experience in a premium location.
The renovation also extended to the player areas, where new lockers with integrated bench seating were installed. In recognition of the naming rights partner, Aichi Tokei Denki Co., Ltd., the bench upholstery features a vibrant orange finish—the company’s signature color. This bold contrast against the blue metal framework introduces a fresh, modern aesthetic to the historic locker rooms, helping to energize players as they prepare for competition.
Facility overview
Atsuta Jingu Park Baseball Stadium is a historic outdoor venue with more than 70 years of tradition, located within the greenery adjacent to Atsuta Jingu Shrine. Having previously hosted professional games, it continues to serve as an important venue for high school, corporation, and amateur baseball. As a symbolic “hallowed ground” of regional baseball culture, the stadium plays a vital role in nurturing future generations of athletes. Since 2018, it has operated under the name “Atsuta Aichi Tokei 120 Stadium” through its partnership with Aichi Tokei Denki Co., Ltd., combining long-standing tradition with forward-looking community engagement.
