Project Description
Unprecedented Group Seating for a Diverse Spectator Environment
Meiji Jingu Baseball Stadium, completed in 1926, has undergone several refurbishment projects. While many group seats were originally provided, the refurbishment revamped the stand and planning seats. Seats and group seats that combine comfort and convenience for stress-free enjoyment of games, utilizing Kotobuki Seating's technological expertise, have been chosen. Unique group seating has been installed to create a more diverse spectator environment.
Premium Seats in the infield are group seats for two to five people, with a stylish wood deck design and a table with cup holders. Compared to the standard seat width of approximately 430 mm, the Premium Seats have a width of 500 to 600 mm. The spacious seats allow for stress-free spectating even after sitting for long periods of time. Side Table Seats, also located in the infield, have a side table for food and beverages at each seat, with space for luggage storage underneath. The seats are blow-molded from high-density polyethylene, with a hollow interior structure that provides impact resistance and is resistant to cracking, even when hit by a batted ball. Additionally, the seat and backrest are padded with cushioning for added comfort, highly regarded as the best seat for stadiums.
Sofa Seats for Enjoying Ballpark Gourmet Food and Eco-Friendly Seats Made With Marine Plastic
Sky Terrace Seats feature cushioned seating as comfortable as high-end sofas and a large table for enjoying gourmet food at the stadium. Deck Seats have a table at every seat and ample space in front and behind, while Family Seats have a cushioned seat with floor cut out and a low sofa to stretch your legs while watching the game. These and other highly functional seats cater to a variety of needs. You can select the best seat for how you want to view the game and your party size.
The outfield stands are equipped with High Chair Seats made partly from marine plastics washed up on the beach. It is estimated that approximately 8 million tons of marine plastic is spilled every year, making it one of the most serious environmental problems. The stadium seat is a rare example of addressing the SDGs through the recycling of marine plastics, and it has drawn global attention.
Facility Overview
Meiji Jingu Baseball Stadium was completed in October 1926. It has a history of hosting professional baseball games, as well as Tokyo Big6 University League and high school games. In addition to baseball, the stadium is also used for a wide range of other purposes, including corporate events, movies, TV dramas, and commercial filming. It will be transformed into a new Jingu Stadium as part of the Jingu Gaien area redevelopment project.
