Iwate Education Center was rebuilt due to age, and in May 2018 the third iteration of this building was completed.
The second iteration of the Center's Multipurpose Hall had fixed seats, but the third iteration used a combination of Retractable seating, Stacking Chair, and Folding Table. This is because the third iteration became smaller overall than the second, and needed to handle varied events in a single space.
The seats of this Retractable seating are a gorgeous type twice as thick as normal seats. The seats are also set at 10cm wider than those of the second iteration. For that reason, they are comfortable even when sat in for long periods of time.
If Stacking Chair is lined up in front of the Retractable seating, it can be used as a 320 seat hall. If Folding Table and Stacking Chair are lined up, it can be used as a conference room or training room. Because Retractable seating can also be used with just the first five steps, the sliding wheels can be used to divide a room into smaller halls.
