PIA ARENA MM
PIA ARENA MM
Nov. 10,2020
Sports and Entertainment Facility
Indoor Arena
Project Description
PIA ARENA MM opened as an arena for music concerts
In July 2020, PIA ARENA MM was opened as an arena for music concerts.
The achromatic-color interior of the building has a chic, adult atmosphere. The sophisticated design and colors are also a feature to enhance the performance. The four-tiered seating area, from the backrests to the legs, is all black in color, and when the venue goes dark, the entire seating area blends into the darkness, further accentuating the stage.
Main seating area with both functionality and seating comfort
The seating on the first floor is movable.
In order to move stages and equipment in and out in a short period of time, a type of chair with casters was adopted that allows many chairs to be moved at once. Similar types have been introduced in neighboring arenas. The leg bases of units with 2 to 6 seats connected to each other have casters for easy movement when they need to be moved.
The horizontally shaped leg base has adjusters at both ends and casters inside it.
Casters are linked to levers at the top of the leg base. When installed with the lever raised, the end adjusters catch the floor firmly. When the lever is pressed down, casters appear for smooth movement.
A feature of this mechanism is that all seats allow a lever to be pressed down to activate the casters and stack and roll them aside to quickly create a pathway or flat floor for equipment.
The
chair
is a two-piece type with separate parts for the backrest and seat.
When you leave a seat, the seat is raised and the depth is reduced to provide more space after you stand up. This is very useful for live performances and concerts where the audience often stands to watch. The backrest is padded with urethane foam, and the seat has an easily replaceable cover to enhance seating comfort and functionality. Cup holders are placed on the armrests between seats, allowing people to enjoy live music while eating and drinking.
The seating on the second through fourth floors is fixed, with the same chairs as those on the first floor set into the floor.
Eliminated armrests to provide more aisle space. Cup holders are located on the backrest of the seat ahead.
Suite area that creates new value for the arena
One corner of the fourth floor is dedicated to a suite area for special guests and artist-related personnel.
Proceed through the private entrance and open the door to find a high quality suite with large windows overlooking the venue. The balcony seating, set outside the window, has cushioned chairs filled with plenty of urethane foam.
It is large enough to envelop your body, allowing you to relax and enjoy the live performance.
The area also has its own lounge, which is expected to be used in a variety of ways. This space will create new value for the arena business.
Facility Overview
PIA ARENA MM, which was opened in the summer of 2020 in the Minato Mirai district of Yokohama, is a music arena operated by PIA Corporation, known for its “Ticket Pia” brand.
The seats from the second to fourth floors are arranged in a vertically stacked configuration, which expresses PIA Corporation’s commitment to having the audience feel close to the artists from every seat, even though it is a large arena with approximately 10,000 seats. The facility is also home to three restaurants with different concepts and an area where visitors can experience installation art, and is packed with features that will allow them to enjoy a special day.
