Project Description

Shizuoka City Shimizu Cultural Hall 'Marinart' opened on August 1, 2012. A short 3-minute walk from JR Shimizu Station will get you to the hall. The building's glass front gives it a symbolic appearance from the outside. A free passageway connects the cultural hall to Shimizu Station, making it possible to visit even on rainy days. Its elegant glass-walled structure is readily apparent from the train station. With a partnership with the Shizuoka Symphony Orchestra, the prefecture's most prominent professional orchestra, the facility is expected to serve as a cultural promotion hub as well as a gathering place for residents.

Kotobuki Seating delivered 1,513 seats to the main hall. From classical concerts to operas and musicals, the main hall with side balconies can accommodate a wide range of performing arts productions. Only the ground floor is available and can be used as a medium-sized hall with714 seats.
