Welfare building, Main Hall (H.U. Forest Hall), H.U. Bioness Complex
Welfare building, Main Hall (H.U. Forest Hall),
H.U. Bioness Complex
Oct. 19,2022
Conference Room
Project Description
The establishment of Akiruno City’s most advanced inspection laboratory
In January 2022, "H.U. Bioness Complex", the new key facility of the H.U. Group, which is involved in inspection and related services as well as the clinical diagnostics business, opened in Akiruno City, Tokyo. It is a pioneering new facility that includes a highly advanced testing laboratory with unparalleled technological capabilities and efficiency.
The facility consists of an "Laboratory Building," "R&D Building," "Administration Building," and "Welfare Building”, in which the Welfare building, Main Hall in the Welfare Building is equipped with fixed seats and tables provided by Kotobuki Seating.
Seats designed with special attention to comfort
TS-71 series
seats are used for the seatings arranged in a circular pattern along the stage.
These seats have a proven history as theater seats for auditoriums, halls, and other venues. At Kotobuki Seating's showroom, the chair was selected for its seating comfort after undergoing comparisons in terms of width and hardness of the cushion.
The back and seat cushions are three-dimensionally curved to match the seated posture of the human body. They adjust to the body and provide comfortable seating even for extended periods of time. The seat is made of a sturdy steel plate pressed seat frame, combined with corrugated springs and high-density molded urethane cushions that do not easily lose their shape.
The shape of the seat is called "
Spacia
," a barrier-free design with a thin edge. By slimming the part of the seat that touches the back of the knees when seated, a generous amount of leg room can be obtained.
This shape allows the legs to be drawn in firmly when standing up, thus stabilizing the body's balance. It is possible to stand up easily without using hands, even while carrying luggage. Since the movement of the legs is not hindered, it is easy to achieve a stable writing posture even when seated, promoting concentration. In addition, the frontage that is W600 wide per person allows for a comfortable seating position.
The upholstery is randomly arranged in two colors, mimosa and warm olive. Shades of red are often used for halls, but these two colors were chosen for this project at the facility’s request for a bright appearance.
The bright yellow-green upholstery, combined with the wooden walls, creates a fresh, forest-like atmosphere.
Highly functional independent type table
These tables were custom-made for H.U. Bioness Complex. The table is an independent type that is separate from the seats in front of it, which is unusual for a hall or conference room table. Normally, the table is stored in a table box, and is pulled up when in use. This makes it easy to pass through the space between the front and back seats and gives the table a neat appearance.
It is large enough to place an A3-sized paper horizontally, should you need to take notes during the meeting. In addition, AC and USB outlets are located next to the table. Since PCs and iPads are often used during meetings, users appreciate the convenience of being able to use them while charging.
The colors of the table's front paneling and deck were also chosen to be bright to match the upholstery.
Main Hall is used for a wide range of activities, including international conferences with simultaneous interpretation booths and the 2022 company entrance ceremony.
The bright and user-friendly hall supports the activities of researchers who are the future of inspection technology.
Facility Overview
H.U. Group is one of the world's unique healthcare companies with both laboratory and related services and clinical diagnostics businesses.
The H.U. Group's core facility, including a state-of-the-art testing laboratory with unparalleled technological capabilities and efficiency, was constructed as a symbol of the H.U. Group's mission of "creating new value in healthcare".
The concept is "Connect, Show, and Foster.
It is a center of value creation that is close to human life, where people with a variety of knowledge and expertise connect with each other, share their wealth of knowledge and technology, and nurture new co-creation in healthcare.
The name "Bioness" expresses the H.U. Group's meaning of "healthcare business complex. Bioness is a coined word that expresses "Bio (accumulation of life data)" and "Business (creativity to bring about innovation in the industry). The word "Complex" represents the fact that this facility is a complex where people with various knowledge and expertise can connect and co-create with each other.
