Project Description

Aichi Gakuin University promotes education that respects diversity and encourages mutual learning

Meijo Koen Campus of Aichi Gakuin University continues to evolve as a 'crossover campus' that connects students and society, the region and the future, and the economy and culture to create new vitality in the Chubu region.
As part of this initiative, the construction of the classroom building 'Alice Tower' was completed in April 2020 to coincide with the relocation of the Faculty of Law from the Nisshin campus.

The design continues to allow for a silent entry and exist, just that it has an added natural look now!

The SD-777 series, now introduced in Alice Tower, has been in use in another hall too on the campus. SD-777 series seats can be reclined forward when seated to leave a wider aisle space behind them. Students can walk from behind the seat without others having to stand up, making it easy for students to get to (or leave) their seats when they arrive late for a lecture.
The seats combine natural wood backrests and muted dark-toned backs & seat pads. The beautiful wood grain on the back creates a completely different impression depending on the angle of view. It is a simple yet warm design that harmonizes with the greenery outside the window.

Desks & Seats - Functional yet Beautiful

The SD-777 series seats lined up in each classroom have independent legs isolated from the legs of the other seats as well as those of the desks. This insulates the seats from any vibrations coming from the neighboring seats or desks, and students can concentrate in the class. Strength, flexibility, and durability are also some of the key features of these independent legs.
The legs of the desks are of integrated style with no visible power supply or cables, giving a clean look not only to the desks but also to the entire classroom. The backrest of the seat is designed to align with the S-shaped line of the spine, and the seat is designed as a 'ducktail' with an incline rising gradually toward the back of seat. This shape provides a stable and comfortable sitting experience.

The Alice Tower features a 'mock courtroom' for learning law in a practical way, and large classrooms with 90 to 200 seats. It is expected to be used for various purposes as a center for promoting contribution toward education and community to meet the expectations of the modern society from the multifaceted perspectives of 'business' and 'law'.

Facility Overview

The Alice Tower of Aichi Gakuin University houses a space called 'Academic Commons' on the 1st and 2nd floor where students can do self-study, and 'Active Learning Classrooms' on the upper floors with seats that can be moved and arranged according to the purpose. This ensures a learning environment that accommodates a variety of learning styles enabling students learn independently, as well as engage with their peers.
