Project Description

Yurihonjo City Cultural Center and cultural complex 'KADARE', was established near Ugo-Honjō Station in December 2011, based on the idea of 'creating a warm and welcoming environment that captivates residents and visitors, as well as promoting people movement across the city'. The center serves as a cultural center, a community center, a library, and an educational research institution, making it a convenient stop for the people of all the ages. 'Kadare' literally means 'join us' or 'let's speak' in the local dialect. It's a community-built space that reflects the feelings of the residents.

The world's first multifunctional variable hall that can host a wide range of performances

Interestingly, when the foldable chairs are stored in a pit beneath the floor and the doors are opened, the space merges with the entranceway in a unique way. A 'super box' space measuring 12.5 meters in width × 135 meters in length can be created by converting the stage side into a parterre. (574 seats)
