Patona Hall,
Miyagino Ward Cultural Center

Dec. 21,2012
Theater / Hall

Project Description

Before construction began, numerous workshops were held to hammer out the basic concept for the facility, reflecting the viewpoint of the future users when drawing up the plans. Its main characteristic is that it consists of two halls in sizes that are easy for the local people to utilize--the Patona Hall (348 seats) for music concerts and the Patona Theatre (198 seats) for the dramatic arts. In addition, it also houses a citizens center, information center, library and children’s center, creating a cultural complex.

The Patona Hall’s theatre seats (air-conditioned seats), Patona Theatre’s Retractable Seating and the electrically powered stage that can be stored within the wall of the gym are all products of Kotobuki Seating. The seats in the Patona Hall, which is designed for music concerts, are ‘air-conditioned seats’, which emit heated/cooled air through vents in the backrest. These were employed due to the high ceiling in the facility, providing efficient air conditioning with a minimum of loss.
