Theater and hall chairs are fashioned with a "ducktail seat®" that reduces the burden on the lower back when seated for an extended period of time.
The seat, resembling a duck's tail with its back elevated, was inspired by the "zafu" used during zazen meditation.

To bring this product to life, we had to examine the shape and upholstery of the cushion, test seat strength and durability (based on European standard EN12727), and then develop a seat with high functionality.

This seat creates continuity between the backrest and the seat cushion, thereby enhancing the sense of oneness. The distinctive outward curve on the backrest provides firm support for the lower back and comfortable seating.

Balanced load distribution and support over a wide area

By measuring the distribution of body pressure with a pressure distribution meter, we were able to check the load dispersion of this distinctive seat shape. Not only is the load distributed in a well-balanced manner around the sciatic bone, but it also provides support over a wide area from behind the buttocks to the lower back.

As about 70% of the body pressure is exerted on the chair when seated, urethane with high specific gravity is used to prevent the seat from sagging.

Neat and elegant flat plywood back

The straight and flat back made of plywood appears neat and gives an elegant impression to guests entering from the back of the hall.

Seat and backrest with piped edge

This design gives a luxurious feel with piped edging that is the creator's dedication to detail.

High quality wooden armrest and panel

The elbow rests are smooth to the touch, and together with the slanted panel extending from the legs to the feet create a sense of elegance.

Inner panel that provides gentle body support

An upholstery fabric is used for the inner panel. It gently supports the body and provides comfort to the skin even during the winter months.
