HANAZONO RUGBY STADIUM Renovation for Rugby World Cup 2019, Japan
HANAZONO RUGBY STADIUM was built in 1929 as the first dedicated rugby ground in Japan. It hosts the National High School Rugby Tournament, the Japan Top League, and various other matches. In order to evolve into a stadium that is up to the standards for Rugby World Cup 2019, Japan, it was renovated and reopened in 2018. A grid design based on the theme of a scrum was added to the front gate. A 710 inch jumbo screen and LED lighting for night matches were newly implemented, while the spectator seats were renewed.
The Latest Stadium seats BLM-8000 series
Most of the non-VIP seats did not have backrests before the renovation. With the renovation, the two-piece type BLM-8000 series, for which the back and the seat are separated, was implemented for all seats. This seat is created through blow molding, in which air is blown into heated high-density polyethylene before being cooled to create the mold. These stadium seats stand out for their high strength and sharp shape.
The back is a slight round shape, which lets you shift to see from one side of the pitch to the other. They also made it as easy as possible to move through the aisles, with the seat folding in by 250 millimeters, making it as compact as possible. The same design is used for VIP seats, which have are equipped with armrests.
The seats have a red color that complement the rich green color of the grass. Among the red seats, there are blue seats that spell out “HANAZONO.”
